Boy Meets Girl
After years of growing kiwi vines, I just yesterday discovered that boys are different from girls! The happy bride is on the left; her crowning glory is a bundle of bright white ovaries waving around for all to see, bordered by luscious sticky stigmas to grab any pollen that might be around. The more somber groom sports pollen-laden anthers, and lots of them. One male plant can pollenize up to eight females.
