Big wheels.
Another school day and we did a run through of an old SAtS Reading Test. I am to be a reader and transcriber for a very intelligent child who has dyslexia. I can give him no help with the paper, but can transcribe some of his answers that would be difficult for a marker to read, this is done at the end of the test in front of an invigilator. It was really hard to sit there seeing him plough his way through some very demanding text. Not sure what benefit is to be made of him sitting this test, it gives no one any more insight into his ability except the number crunchers who study data and of course the big wheels in Whitehall who are always ready to down the teaching profession ( but don't get me started on that!).
Came home a different way today as I got the bus into Bradford to catch the train. I don't come here often so was surprised to see there was another type of big wheel in front of the Town Hall.
So it was an unexpected and welcome subject for my blip!
