Gentlemans Steam Yacht 'Amazon' (built 1885)
Once owned by the well known actor Arthur Lowe of 'Dads Army' and other programs. The Amazon is over 100 feet long. Built in 1885 and made of teak and pine on an oak frame (or so the internet says). It is believed at least 80% of her is original material as not much has needed to be replaced during repairs.
From a bit of research it looks as if she may be off to London to be part of the royal celebrations. I have not seen her before. Amazon seems to have travelled quite widely in her past and seems to have been in America for a while.
I think the Pyronaut (a fire fighting boat) from Bristol Museum has also gone for the London event, the Pyronaut being taken on a lorry by road. The museum does trips round the docks in the Pyronaut, which looks amazing when they run all the water pumps as huge spays of water rocket into the air creating rainbows. It looks such a small boat to pump so much water. I must try to get its photo for here at some point.
