Boatyard
It was a beautiful day to finally tackle the walk across the Thurlton Marsh to St. Olaves.
I captured two peacock butterflies, both 'last years' model, out of hibernation to try and produce this years first brood. We listened to the skylarks and watched the swallows. Roe deer and hare tempted the dog to a chase, instead she went for a swim in the drainage ditch, twice. We reached the Old Bell at St. Olaves for "elevenses" of real ale and crisps, watched the boats on the cut and the busy bees in the boatyard.
On the way back we were followed by a herd of inquisitive bullocks almost from one side of the marsh to the other, Tess found a pond to bathe in and we took the short cut down the Yarmouth road to home for lunch and a spot of cricket watching. Cooling down from our fun in the sun by watching our brave boys in the heat of the Caribbean.
