Snakes!!!

It was my bird group this morning - but it was SO dull and blustery and the birds were so distant that there wasn't much photography  to be had - until the very end of our walk when we saw sand martins investigating this hole in the river/canal wall.

The cleaner/carer comes on Tuesdays so it means I can go out in the afternoon for a while too.

I went to a nature reserve where I had a lovely afternoon waiting for a non-appearing kingfisher.

While I was waiting I saw this gorgeous little grebe - and even more excitingly these courting grass snakes!

I've never seen one before - and today I saw four or five of them - hoorah!
