Lines that never meet
or that tentatively
greet each other
near infinity,
whichever fits
your point of view.
Over the last 25 days I've travelled about 1,400 miles by train, an average of 60ish miles a day. Not vast by commuting standards, but since my own commute is ten minutes on a bike it’s been a bit out of the ordinary. The time I’ve spent contemplating out of speeding windows has made me notice how trains accentuate parallel lines by blurring the verticals. This one’s a bit obvious but it works with landscape too, especially in northern France and Belgium where the lines are less screened by trees than in the parts of England I’ve been in recently.
This might be the first of a series.
