the blooming is looming

Already there is a faint fragrance of lilac in the air.
Soon the blooms will be open and we will be overpowered by the sweet aroma!
It happens to be one of hubby's favorites, but I find it a bit cloying.
Good thing the blossoms are so ephemeral :-)
