Hurdy Gurdy
This Hurdy Gurdy was given to us many years ago by German friends.
It doesn't work, and is in need of restoration, but it's a bit different and looks nice.
It was made by French musical instrument maker Ludovicus Guersan in 1764 and the Latin inscription inside the lid reads:-
"Ludovicus Guersan propè Comoediam Gallicam Lutetiae Anno 1764"
According to Google this translates as:-
"Guersan Louis near Paris in the year 1764 the French Comedy"
Louis Guersan's instruments sell for thousands, but they are in full working order. I guess this has no value as it was given away.
