donkeys + paddling +bikes + hotdogs

After a job interview in town I met Anna at 8th Day where I filled my pannier with goodies and we saw a whole host of smiling friendly faces to chat to. We pedalled to the train station thinking we could possibly get back some lost time before I had to get back for CM.

We ended up realising we had little time and so simply got a train to Knutsford where we cycled down sunshine dappled country lanes to Tatton Park where we had a picnic and stuck our red hot feet in the lake. Riding back along the TPT we found the most beautiful donkeys chilling in the sun, and stopped for about an hour to pet them, feed them grass and to take photos. Then we wheeled our way down the TPT to Chorlton where I said bye to Anna and got ready for mass.

It was such a great turnout. The sun was beaming and we had around 200 smiling people on bicycles ready to ride through our streets cheering and chattering and creating a wonderful wheeling carnival.

After the ride we went to Pedal for music, hotdogs and chilling in the beautiful summer evening, giving us a chance to reflect on how great the ride was.
