Tapping the maples 2

This is the "older" fashioned way of collecting sap from the maple trees.

Today was chillier than it's been, I almost wanted to put my gloves back on.  There was also a bit of wind, which didn't help.  But I'm not complaining - I'm starting to see buds coming out on the trees, and some plants are starting to poke up through the ground, plus there are birds everywhere - I've been waiting a long time for this season to arrive.
