Beautiful sunny day !
A glimpse of sunshine and a moment of quiet in the garden .
I have had a difficult , disturbing work day in a care home for older people - a day when I have been incredulous , bewildered and outraged in equal measure.
It seems that it is much too easy for older people to be treated as different from other people, somehow less than human . This service had slipped far down that slippery slope . Far from good enough. Being responsible for regulating services , evaluating quality and promoting improvement weighs heavily today.
Sleep needed and time to think of an appropriate response. Hope to be able to influence positive change.
