Dog watch

At last I had a fish. There was a hatch and the trout were rising so I thought I'd go get my trout rod after nothing all week on the salmon, and that's when I had a take. Not a big fish but fresh from the sea and running. You can tell this because of the sea lice on its skin. The lice drop off after 24 hours in fresh water. The beat here is 40 miles from the coast so the fish had been moving fast up the system.

I went down to the lower beat, Commonty, this afternoon. Pippa gets excited when she sees a fish .
