First Horse Chestnut Leaves

I love the way these horse chestnut leaves unfurl and then hang limply down like insect wings drying out...one of my favourite trees.

A splendid walk with friends around College Lake today, lots of bird species spotted and we were treated to a display of courting lapwings calling and swooping over the water.
