Second Harvest

Fourth graders at O's school recently researched community service projects.  If your project was small, the school helped arranged a way for you to fulfill the service.  If you project required funds, the class voted on one.  O's group gave a speech trying to persuade classmates to give to a transitional housing provider for the homeless called Mary's Place. 

Today the entire fourth grade to a service field trip to Second Harvest, a food bank.  They needed all hands on deck to fill as many bags of noodles as possible in two hours.  The 4th Graders packaged 1,263 pounds of food!  And that is no joke.
