Plus ça change...

Looking up

Mr B arrived back in the early hours.  In the later early hours, CarbBoy had his last morning of holiday school and I chopped up the fudge made late last night as a 'thank you' present for his teacher.

Lots to catch up with Mr B, mainly about a new contract that will see him far far away (ok, not really, but further than normal) for a short while.  The kids are distraught and greeted him this morning like he'd been gone for six months.  Later, gardening, lounging and a lot of nose-blowing.  I feel like I can hear slightly better, but I may just be getting used to it.

For dinner, Spanish pork and rice.  Not quite a paella.  The kids hated it, but we loved it and somehow the amount that should serve six has served two, with enough left for a one-person small lunch tomorrow....  Gardening overran and it was clear that dinner was going to be late.  TallGirl saved the day by pointing out that the Spanish do eat late, so it's what the dish would have wanted.

For a few days now I've been looking at pictures of wisteria on blip and feeling slightly grumpy that ours is not out yet.  But turns out it is.  This is just outside my bedroom window.  And shows why I rarely take photos of my house - it just reminds me of a list of jobs (guttering, rotten soffit board, shutters to paint...)  The wisteria is not 'ours' strictly speaking.  It is rooted in next door's garden about 6 metres to the left of here.  I can't decide whether I want any or not, so this is a handy compromise.
