A day at the National Archives in Kew, trying to shed some light on some family history.

Found a few answers, but even more questions.

When my great grandparents died, my Granny discovered that both her parents had been married before, and that she had two half-brothers who had been kept a secret from her. She set about tracing them and got to know both of them fairly well before they died.

Yesterday, we discovered that there was a sister as well - who had never been mentioned even by the relevant half-brother. So, far more questions now. Think we might be going back there a few times in the next three years - which is how long Mum's readers' card is valid for.
