Yellow Skunk Cabbage
This stinky yellow stunk cabbage grows in profusion in my friend's garden which has ideal conditions for it. When I had a look to see how the flowers were coming along last week they were completely submerged in water which had drained from part of the garden higher up. It hasn't hurt the plants as they thrive in a boggy environment. They might be smelly plants but the flowers I have to say are stunning, but don't last very long.
While I think of it ...... I saw ten Egrits on the old harbour wall at Port Carlisle this morning. I also saw a speed boat in the estuary, the tide was coming in and the wind was making the water very choppy and the boat was bouncing like mad, made me feel a bit queasy just watching it :):)
