the writing on the wall
Another pleasant corner of Banbury, reminding me of it's earlier days.
Banbury market is definitely diversifying, with antiques and even a mobility stall.
I took a portrait of the man playing the steel drum, but the weather was so awful, it was underexposed. He and his mate were trying to sell CDs "for your barbecue" - not really the day for it. I hope they do better next week. The council I work for is running a seminar on entrepreneurship (always makes me think of Dubya - " the French have no word for entrepreneur"). While I applaud this, I do worry that the government promotes being entrepreneurial because we haven't got the growth to come up with the jobs. So entrepreneurship and social enterprise put the risk on the individual. And I do wonder how many cupcake makers the country needs, as that seems to be the enterprise of choice. Maybe I am just a cynical, non-entrepreneurial penpushing bureacrat?
