Musical May-Flower Drum Song - With This Drink....

The last of May's musicals is another Rogers and Hammerstein - Flower Drum Song.

Based on C Y Lee's book of the same name it tells the story of an illegal Chinese immigrant into the USA and some complex goings-on around an arranged marriage. Not very well known, and although a film was made of it, not very frequently performed now as it raises all sorts of issues around the way that Asian-Americans were portrayed.

Part of the wedding ceremony is that both Bride and Groom have to share a drink from a goblet, and once both have taken wine from the cup they are married. So here for my blip is a goblet of wine - With This Drink I Thee Wed?

As a total aside the new Nikon D4 (a snip at £5,200) has proved itself to be Grizzly proof. The lens he had attached was a little more expensive (£7k+), so that's £12k+ of kit that survived a Grizzly attack!
