Blue Spruce

This blue spruce branch caught my eye....I have always
loved blue spruce as an evergreen.....Did you know that
blue spruce forms little pockets of pitch along its trunk?
Eventually this  lump hardens, can be peeled out, and
children chew this as gum....My Dad taught me this.
If the hardened form still is just a little sticky, you have
mouth problem with sticky tooth coverings.  Sigh!  Of course,
I passed this bit of lore to my children....They tell me now, "how
could we forget, Mom?"
