Civic Park Newcastle

Waiting for Tom and Camille to pick us up to take us all to the Hunt and Gather Market.

Going back home today - Bob left all for work, and I followed along behind dropping Mum at home on the way.

This is Civic Park Newcastle, just a block away from Alex and Sam's home.  It was planned out in 1929 and planted soon after, but the public were not allowed access until 1937 so as to protect the growing of the grass, shrubs and trees.  Yes, that's right - that's eight years of grass growing!  Even after opening the public were not encouraged until permanent paths were installed.    Get out!

Post edit:  Two days later Sydney and Newcastle were lashed by heavy rain and wind and many trees came down in Civic Park.  Sadly, it won't look like this now.
