Erythronium dens-canis

Also known as Dogs Tooth Violet. I've been waiting patiently for a week now to share this with you. The buds have been out but not open but today, at last, you can see the gorgeous blooms. This is my favourite spring bulb and it seems happy enough here spreading a little each year. It gets its name, by the way, from the shape of the bulb.
Heavy pottering this afternoon. Weeding in the Dell and moving a Chelone into the pink border with help from CH who has been working on his wall between F1 Practice and Qualifying. Poor thing is exhausted.
