Lesser Bittern

Less Is More!

Spotted by Hubs and identified by Debbi this is the furtive and rarely spotted Lesser Bittern. You can see how small he was by the size of the lily flower. Inconspicuous and incredibly well camouflaged so difficult to spot - well except by experts obviously! It took a 500mm and an extender to get this and even then we were there well over an hour just for him to come out of the reeds and onto the lilypads. Worth  it for the capture tho'!

Those of you confused as to the dates on all this - well yes - my camera settings are a bit awry! :)
