I didn't think I was going to find many subjects today, given the awful weather. So I'm pleasantly surprised at having to choose from three candidates. One had a strong background, one was taken under difficult lighting conditions, but this one I prefer as the best all-round portrait shot.

He was standing in a doorway enjoying his book while warning passer-bys not to touch the newly coated paintwork. People like me, who nearly leaned on the wet paint while trying to compose this shot.

I like the lighting and the book is a nice prop for him to hold.
