Jubilee Flotilla
Well I collected my Olympic Volunteer uniform kit today and very well handled it was too.
However, whilst in Lahndahn I thought I would have a sniff around Docklands to see who had moored up for Brenda's Jubilee flotilla.
Brilliantly, lots of boats had turned up who had originally had been part of the Dunkirk evacuation where normal folk had taken to their pleasure boats and rescued 300,000 men from France and certain capture by the Germans in 1941. Crewed by some seriously old chaps who looked like they were there.
Marvellous idea and what a great way to celebrate our seagoing heritage at the same time as Queenie's 60th!
