And The Smoke Covered The Sun

Just as we arrived at the river late this afternoon this huge thick cloud of smoke covered the sun and turned the light a deep red! I took a lot of shots and then had a difficult time choosing one! :)

The land management people were doing a prescribed burn to the north and we could see the smoke coming closer all afternoon.

These burns are done regularly after the scorching summer so that some of the dense, dead undergrowth is cleared. A lot of the Australian bushland plants regenerate when a fire goes through and the new growth doesn't take long to come back.
