High on the hill.
Lovely walk today, starting at Darwin Gardens,Ilkley.
Charles Darwin visited Ilkley from October to December 1859, to undergo hydropathy ( " the water-cure") at the prestigious Wells House Hydropathic Establishment ( now converted into apartments)
While here the Origin of Species was first published .
From the car park we walked up onto the moor, and along the top of Addingham Moor.
After yesterday it was quit dull, with a strong cold wind!
However we managed to find a sheltered spot among some boulders, for our lunch stop.
The flask of tomato and basil soup warmed us up!
Then it was down hill, and the sun came out for our walk back to Ilkley.
About 8 miles altogether.
It is four weeks since we were out walking with the group, so there was lots of catching up to do, and the 8 miles passed very quickly.
Now back home, feet up, and a cuppa!
