X marks the spot

Dropping a passenger up at Hayfield Riding School today, I noticed many trees in the already decimated Hazelhead Park, with pink X's on them.
I presume they are marked for destruction to make way for a huge building project of huge overpriced "luxury" homes planned up that way.

Sad to see such beauty, if that is the case.
