Shingles

I spend most of Saturday on a friend's workshop roof ("It's just a shed") nailing on cedar shingles. It's a job I love, though I do wonder if my body can take the contortions these days. I ache today! I have postponed continuing the job from Saturday to Sunday as I have a concert on Saturday evening, and my hands, if they object in the same way, would not take kindly to playing percussion instruments!

I thought the colours of the remaining shingles are very pretty. They remind me of hand-spun and woven woollen pashminas stacked up a tiny, beautiful shop which specialises in Afghan textiles at Porlock Weir on the Somerset coast.
