Footie
By no stretch of the imagination would any of Knottman's friends describe him as a football fan. In fact he has been to only one League game and the was 65 years ago. The team was Bradford City.
But when one's six year old grandson comes home clutching a Man of the Match Award and when a scout from a Premiere League team writes his name in a little black book, one is bound to set aside more cerebral pursuits and take an interest.
Thus it was that Knottman and Mrs.K. this morning used
their newly acquired first Satnav to find a Football Stadium in East Manchester. Here 48 teams of under sevens and under eights played their hearts out in six aside matches of great sporting spirit. Think of all those hours of computer and Wii screens avoided. It really warmed the cockles in spite of a very cold east wind.
Young M. performed very well and earned the praise of the oldies.
