House viewing today turned up a place lost in time. This photo is a detail from the beautiful wallpaper in a tiny back bedroom, or nursery maybe, lit only by a wee cast iron rooflight. It is covered in a myriad of playing animals. The rest of the house was similarly decorated in vintage papers up to the 1960's at the latest. Needs a full rewire, replumb and new heating system, at the very least. Not sure it's for us, but it will be a real project for someone.
