Pete Got Me In a Helicopter At Last!

Can't believe I actually did it! This trip was too good to turn down.

A 40-45 min helicopter ride over the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and into the Grand Canyon. We had time to have a wander round and take lots of photos before we enjoyed a champagne picnic. Well some of us did (I decided that if I was going the be ill on the ride back I would rather have something inside me! Others in our group - Jamie and Els - decided the opposite). In the end we all made it both ways without incident but it was really windy which made it quite bumpy.

As we left the Grand Canyon the sun was setting. We flew back to Vegas as darkness fell and by the time we came to the strip, it was dark enough to see all the lights as we flew down the strip at night.

We rounded off what had been a great day by watching the dancing fountains at The Bellagio (to The Pink Panther tune) and the Volcano outside The Mirage.
