A little stroll
Today the weather was so good, we decided to do a walk that I've been lining up for some time. Twenty kilometres and eight and a half hours later I am glad we did it although ended up pretty weary as well as sun-burnt. Full of archaeological remains and eagles, we started near the civilisation that is Lochmaddy - population in the hundreds! - and headed east over the Lees to the coast. As you can see, even on a clam day like today, the coast still has a wild feel and all day we saw not another person.
Then a twenty minute turn around before heading off to dinner on south Grimsay. Drinks and mussels on decking over the sea started the evening off and conversation kept us happily going until almost two a.m. On return though we then had to go next door for another party and to keep the alcohol levels topped up. The hectic social whirl of life on Grimsay - although I must say three a.m. is getting very late for me.....
