Foiled Again...
This is the second sunday running that I've attemped to get at Cauldron Linn, a well hidden waterfall near Dollar. Last week I approached it from Rumbling Bridge and forgot to take a map so didn't feel confident enough to traipse through the bottom of someones garden (I should have gone for it...). Found a way down, but ended up at the top of this magnificent waterfall. Spectacular sight looking down, but not a photograph..
This week its been very dry, so I wasn't expecting a great waterfall shot, but went back and approached it from the Powmill side (as suggested on Wikipedia). Erin joined me and we sneaked through a lot of private fields to the woods leading down to the river, only to be stopped by this bridge. If I'd been on my own, I would have tied the dog up and gone for it, but wee Erin wasn't up for it, and I don't think she's quite ready for shimmying up high across rotten structures...
So, perhaps it will be round 3 next week. Even so, we got a magnificent view of the viaduct and the dog went bonkers in the stunningly gorgeous woods down in this hidden valley..
