MonoMonday: Air.Lung Efficiency
My monoMonday entry is about the building up of Lung efficiency.
Atmospheric Air is Composed of a number of gases.
Nitrogen 78%
Oxygen 20.9%
Carbon Dioxide .03%
Inert gases mainly Argon .97%
Water Vapor 1%.
Through training Elite Triathlete Martina increases her lung efficiency because the lungs become stronger and more vascular; enables Martina to uptake more Air and exhale more air and faster without detrimental effects. Arthur Lydiard a running Coach ahead of his time compared it to that of a 16ltr engine. The other thing about air is that we inhale 21% oxygen and exhale 16% Oxygen which enables us to save someones life through Expired Air Resuscitation. Martina is doing Hill Bounding in the rain today, I was approached by Martina to help improve her technique and speed. Not only am I honoured but I almost feel of my chair when checking out Martina's Profile, 2 years ago in London at the World Triathlon Championships Martina as a Second year Triathlete finished 3rd in the World.
