Fancy a punt

We have had a full day. We drove the hour and a half into Christchurch to see the rebuild. Oh my goodness. We were here four and a half years ago, just after the first earthquakes and went into town and saw that damage. Then, five months later was the quake that caused the most damage and 185 people died. The work that is going on is mind blowing. The new buildings are wonderful. The new design of the city will be wonderful. The people are wonderful. And their spirit is wonderful.
While in the city we walked to the Avon River. It's cute. This image is from inside the boatshed where you can hire a canoe or get punted (is that a word) on the water.
It's been a big day. Looks like rain tomorrow............
