Great Crested Grebe

I had a lovely walk around the lake this morning. It was warm and sunny and the lake was calm. I got there around 8.30am, so it was very quiet, except for lots of bird activity. I followed this grebe fishing along the shore, and for a change decided to go for B & W.They have such great detail and contrast for their head plumage, and I love the beads of water which showered its head.

The rest of the morning was spent ringing all sorts of car type people to organise returning my hire car and scrapping my old car (sniff...), and changing the breakdown details.

Now it's off to work for my late night as it's the start of the summer term. All the students will be back to finish assignments and get ready for their exams.
