Oops!

I left Echo's house this morning and called in at a Widnes park to view an obelisk dedicated to men from Widnes who lost their lives in the two World Wars. A few weeks ago there was a report on TV about the Mayor of Widnes having names added, which had previously been omitted and I spotted the name ' Hollingworth' which was my uncle's name. He had been lost on a submarine during World War 2. However, when I arrived at the Memorial, I was shocked to find that the engraved name wasn't his!! It was A. Hollingworth- a Lieutenant in the Canadian Services during the First World War! Disappointing. I couldn't believe that 2 men with quite an unusual surname, from the same town, had lost their lives.
