Tip
I find the Orange-tip the most challenging of butterflies to photograph, so what I'd usually consider a sub-standard image is still something of an achievement for this species. Of course by the time I'd found an angle where the butterfly wasn't partly obscured by grasses, it had flitted off.
I had a fleeting glimpse of one of these on the track-bed at Bristol Temple Meads as I was on my way down to Plymouth last Wednesday, but this was the first of the year on home turf, or at least on campus turf.
