nonsenses & truths

Spring green

It's great to have a patch of green on campus, right next to the building I work in.  Had my lunch here and absorbed some sun.  As it's an old cemetery there are signs up saying that a legal condition of its use is for quietness...I shall probably blip the sign on a slow day.

Since these look like helicopter-seed things I think this might be a sycamore, but I hope someone with greater arboreal qualifications than I will come along and confirm/correct me.

Work craziness today, I can't believe the lack of (or at least unhelpful) communication that seems to exist.  But I felt helpful this afternoon, some old knowledge proving useful, and not totally forgotten.  And 'my' students are really nice, two of them have spent five hours squishing E45 cream and remained enthusiastic throughout (I had to tell them to go home).
