We have an old fireplace (badly) covered over in the bathroom, we investigated. No nice Victorian tiles, just old bricks, a dodgy looking chimney and ash.  Oh and a live electricity cable, hastily masking taped with a helpful note.  Not even electrical tape, boarded in behind hardboard, dust, ash, water pipes in a bathroom!  Funfunfun! Chas the electrician came out today and will deal with it on Friday. 

P went back to the land of Enger tonight, he'll not be back for almost 3 weeks now :-( So my plan is to get stuck into getting the house sorted as much as I can.  Normal service resumes tomorrow.
