Dead Horse Point
Today was Jeep day. We headed out to Dead Horse Point but as the roads were too rough for our normal vans we had to hire some Jeeps - 17 of them! Our convoy stretched almost as far as the eye could see and stunned people as we roared past. After gazing over the stunning Dead Horse Point from the viewing platform we headed down into the Canyonlands surrounding Dead Horse Point. The drive involved hairpin switch backs, river crossings and some pretty awesome views. The photo taken only managed to fit a tiny part of our convoy, as I couldn't fit all the vans into one photo. Geology wise we were introduced to a mixed aeolian/fluival depositional system. Tonight to celebrate we are planning on a bbq and some beers to finish the day.
