The Stripe

Following Sunday's blip of the older part of Stokesley, today I decided to show you one of the newer areas. Building in The Stripe started in 2000 and all 85 houses are built in a style to reflect that of the town centre. This was the only way that the builders could get planning permission. This small estate is often featured by other town planners wanting to show good house building which is keeping with the local area.

The Stripe is a very unusual name for a street and comes from the name of the footpath which crossed the fields here and was called The Stripe. The footpath still exists.
