28 days later

When I was growing up, exploring abandoned buildings was something that would keep us entertained for hours.

Nowadays and especially at my age its more likely to get me arrested...

However.

There is a website I sometimes stumble back to when bored called 28dayslater.co.uk it's and urban explorers site and I can lose hours on there. Old factories, hospitals, leisure and military sites, hotels and even asylums are all visited and photographed in their varying states of dis-repair for all to see.

So...... Not far from where I work is an abandoned hotel called The Newport Towers hotel. Craig and I pass it often and comment how we would love to have a look around but never get the time or guts to actually stop.

Today I could resist no longer.

Was I trespassing? Maybe!

Was it spooky? Very!

Am I going back? Only with Craig!

The photo is of what I can only assume was the reception desk. The rooms and corridors are mostly intact and the back office still has the safes (all open) still bolted to the floor. It really was very eerie and the rustling noises coming from various rooms meant I didn't venture too far inside.

Talk of skiing in our house today!

I hope it's like riding a bike, it's been over twenty years since I last wore a pair of skis.

Anyway, off to the Welsh Newport tomorrow with Graham, it's gonna be a long day!
