Lately I have been doing a lot more film photography and that led me to look at the collection of old slides and negs that have been stored away for a long time. Among them I came across 3 glass plates that I bought in the 1970s but never printed. So I scanned them and then I was mesmerised by the glimpses of the past. This photo of a young girl is a small part of one of the plates. She was photographed with two younger boys, perhaps her brothers, and she was wearing a pearl necklace that looks too adult for her. Especially I was struck by her expression and spent some time wondering about her. Perhaps noone else has seen this photo for the last hundred years or so.
