Oh dear

Metrology (not meteorology) is a fancy way of saying measuring stuff.  It's engineering related in this case.  It's a sad fact that if you have any engineering related kind of conference, it's going to be a bit of a sausage party.

Our marketing manager asked me to take photographs during the conference.  I had trouble making the scene of mostly men under a tent in flat shade standing around looking slightly sheepishly drinking beer look fun and exciting.  Here my two saviors were gracious enough to be standing near the edge in the sun and enjoying themselves with only a moderate amount of wine.

They're both expats living in the US.  The lady on the left is from Ireland and has a last name that sounds not unlike Oh Dear.  Last time we worked together was in Malaga.

It has become clear that I don't really know how to photograph an event like this but fortune favors the bold and there's a day left yet.
