Meeting old friends

Dear Diary,

I met two very dear friends from my teaching days at The Cheesecake Factory outside of Boston.  The restaurant has about 25 different types of cheesecakes and this is a small sample.  It was so wonderful to see them.  We don't get together nearly enough.  I need to get out of the north woods more often!  Forgot my camera so I had to borrow one of their cell phone's to make this memory.  Any port in a storm!

We reminisced about our 30 years of teaching together but we all agreed that retirement is wonderful and we don't have any regrets in leaving.  That is important I think as some people never feel "complete" without their careers.  Retirement is our new career and we are determined to do it well!

It was also nice to hear about the wonderful trips they have scheduled for this year.  My year will be spent much closer to home exploring the landscape of my ancestors...a journey as much inward as outwards.
