Packing

I'm about to start filling these for a trip to Scotland to stay with my lovely mother-in-law, Diane. It's going to be an emotional one as it is our first time back at the house since my father-in-law's funeral. I know that Marcus, his sister and his mum intend to scatter Malcolm's ashes while we are up. My goodness. Still can't get my head around the children, and whether they should be a part of this or not. At the moment, my thoughts are that this is a time for Diane, Marcus and Samantha.

I am looking forward to spending some time with Diane. We went away to Cornwall together over Easter and she was very subdued, which is only natural and to be expected. She has since been in Spain with her sister and brother-in-law, and has sounded happy on the phone. I know she is excited to be seeing the grand-children. They have been counting down the days all week, especially Charlotte, who is particularly close to Diane. We hope to persuade her to come back with us and spend a week or two here.
