I found it.....

....what you may ask! This tiny piece of carpenter's pencil was lost some time ago. R is very particular about things like this and was very upset. We looked everywhere but to no avail.

However, when I took the washing out of the machine today something caught my eye and I looked in the rubber ring around the door and there it was. Must have been there months! He was so delighted! It's now the cleanest piece of wood and graphite around here.

I put it with this drawing by Modigliani's drawing of Anna Akhmatova. Apparently she was a Russian poet and his muse. This is from an article in last Sunday's paper and is fascinating. The splash in the corner is on the drawing and is not me spilling my coffee.
