Trolley Dash

I was walking around the boulevard this evening and saw that the new Dubai trolley has started going around part of the boulevard, this is a shot of it going by although it wasn't going nearly as fast as the motion blur in the photo would suggest.
I think they still have a few kinks to iron out in how it's going to operate, the trolley runs down the central reservation of the boulevard and there is one pedestrian crossing in the section where the trolley runs.
Previously you had to wait for the lights to cross half the road and wait in the central reservation until the lights came on for the other half of the road.
Now the central reservation is mostly taken up by the trolley tracks so you have nowhere to wait in the middle.
The current solution is to employ several people to stand at the crossing and put a moveable barrier across the pedestrian entrances and stop you crossing to the central reservation when the trolley approaches.
I expect someone is currently desperately trying to come up with something better.
